Some Things I'm Excited About

Its October 9th - a Saturday night and I'm home alone on the couch playing around on the internets.

I'm lame. It's cool.

On that note, if you are at all interested in some things this lame girl is totally into right now- keep reading!

The New Love of My Life: My Droid Incredible

Thursday night Boo came home from work took a shower and declared that we were going to dinner and going to Verizon to buy new cell phones. Just like that. So off we went. I'm always a little nervous about picking out a new phone and cell phone sales guys can be sort of douschey and pushy but my husband pretty much locked it in for me. He said, "this phone- you'll love it," handed it to me and he was right ... I love this phone! Its everything I had wished my Blackberry storm was and could never be. I still haven't even kind of figured out all its tricks but for now - I'm LOVING IT! Plus it was a gift from Hubband and that's the best part of all!

Movies I'm Pumped About

The word I think of when I see the trailers for Burlesque is Glittery. I like things that sparkle. Besides that if a movie is the inspiration for a collection in a makeup line I love- you know its going to be epic...at least in Amber Lane world anyway!

Blue Valentine Starring: Michelle William and Ryan Gossling is getting a lot of buzz because of its newly appointed NC-17 rating. I watched the trailer and OMG think it looks like a killer movie. And I'm the type of girl that wants to see it even more if it does maintain that rating! LOL!

Speaking of Michele Williams apparently she's going to be playing Marilyn Monroe soon....

Does she not look pretty perfect for the part?

And finally I'm pretty excited to eat some of this next week:

That's right ya'll I'll be back in Baton Rouge for Rachel's Wedding and noshing away on some yummy jumbalaya, and beniets (no idea how to spell it) and mufulettas...yep its going to be a good weekend next weekend!

Alrighty then. I'm off to catch up on last week's project runway and go night night.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Much Love Always.

Newlyweds

I saw this Newly Wed game on Megan's blog at Miss Madison's Charmed Life - yes again- her blog is super cute and I like looking at her pictures - you should go check her out too- and thought it would be fun to play !

1. She’s sitting in front of the TV, what is on the screen? Dancing W/ The Stars, Grey's Anatomy, a chick flick movie, Jeopardy, How I Met Your Mother, Big Bang.......Me: Ok you can stop now!
Amber: Fine. I watch a lot of TV....whatever.

2. You’re out to eat, what kind of dressing does she get on her salad? Lite Ranch
Amber: Nope, False. I LOATHE lite dressings- I would rather take the cals for the full fat any day. I just lightly dip instead of drench.

3. What’s one food she doesn't like? Onions on pizza - things with odd texture
Anber: I CANNOT STAND ONIONS ON PIZZA. One time Ben ordered onions on his half and one snaked over to my side- I literally gagged and had to run to the bathroom. Oddly enough though I like onions - there's just something about them on pizza

4. You go out to eat and have a drink, what does she order? Chardonnay or Bubblegum vodka - non alcoholic: Diet Coke or Iced Tea
Amber: Yep.

5. What shirt size does she have? medium
Amber: Really depends on the shirt and the style. I have some small shirts and some large shirts but over all medium is about right these days. My boobs have definitely deflated with weight loss.

6. What shoe size does she have? 6.5
Amber: He thinks my feet are tiny- truthfully I'm a solid 7.5

7. What’s her favorite type of sandwich? Peanut butter with chili
Amber: I don't eat a lot of sandwiches- he is right though when I eat chili I love a hald peanut butter sandwich with it!

8. What would she eat everyday if she could? I don't know....you usually like to vary things up - I'm gonna have to say Papa Johns pizza - if you could -
Amber: I love Papa Johns pizza LOVE - but its a sometimes splurge because its not exactly health food- if I COULD I would also eat homemade choc. chip cookies everyday too!

9. What is her favorite cereal? Bran Flakes
Amber: Yeah I like plain cereal

10. What would she never wear? Scrunchie - ass-less chaps
Amber: Somebody has seen too much Sex and the City....I would never wear either of those things but also velvet- I hate the feel of it or crocs- the traditional kind - because seriously they are ugly

11. What is her favorite sports team? Cincinnati Benglas...Who Dey
Amber: So true and he made me that way

14. What is something she does that you wish she wouldn’t do? Nag. Complain about me playing video games. I wish you would learn how to wash dishes
Amber: I don't nag. But I am persistant - I'm a get it done kind of girl and if its not happening I'm vocal about it. Also I HATE washing dishes and we don't have a dishwasher

15. What is her heritage? Cuban, German
Amber: Makes for a loud passionate wifey

16. You bake her a cake, what kind of cake? Chocolate!
Amber: I love cake- wish I had some right now - I also really love birthday cake with the rich buttercream icing!

17. Did she play sports in high school? Cheerleading I guess is a sport , drill team
Amber: Cheerleading IS a sport and I also played softball for 10 years

18. What could she spend hours doing? Shopping
Amber: Indeed. With someone elses money too!

19. What is the unique talent that she has? Singing
Amber: Blushes.

20. What is her type of coffee? Uhm Starbucks - but you don't really drink coffee - Starbucks green tea
Amber: Its true I don't drink warm drinks with the exception of peppermint mochas at Christmas time or tea when I'm sick. I love my green tea but I also have been drinking iced coffees with soy milk.

Weekend

This weekend Mr. and Mrs. Smith played it pretty low- key.

Friday night we couldn't agree on a thing. So we eventually browsed around @ Target then ate bread sticks from little Caesars for dinner whilst watching last week's Boardwalk Empire. Then we went to bed
like the old people we are becoming.

Saturday I went to the park to get in a few miles before starting my day, only to discover the run for the nuns was taking place and starting exactly at the time I pulled in. I decided I didn't want to feel bad about my slow pace amidst all the seasoned runners so instead I visited the local thrift store for 50% everything day hoping I would find some awesome things to refurbish and use in our new office. No dice on that. However, I did find a never used duvet cover set to match our decor and was pretty stoked by that! I also found the perfect picture frame for a series of our engagement pictures I want to frame, some of my favorite old books (that I used to own and actually donated to Goodwill years ago- meaning I probably bought my own books back...oh well) and a pretty cute skirt you'll see in a pic near the end.

After thrifting I came home to shower and get ready for lunch at Olive Garden for my mom's sister Connie who is in town from Virginia.

Bennyboo and I at Olive Garden

We got to meet my cousin Jesse's new baby girl Brooklyn for the first time at lunch
 Me and the sweet girl

Ben was really nervous she was going to cry but she giggled and flirted like any girl would

My nephew Devin holding Brooklyn - for a 15 year old boy - he's awesome with babies

Me and my "little" nephew who still towers over his litle auntie  who is wearing 3 inch heels in this pic

My silly mother brought my cousin Zack a caterpillar in a zip lock baggy - brought a caterpillar to the Olive Garden....sheesh

My mom and her sisters: Connie (top left) and Becky (front)

After lunch we came home and lazed around in a food coma watching movies. I refused to be an "old person" two nights in a row so at 8:30 I dragged Ben out to the little hole in the wall bar in our town to have one or two drinks - which turned into 4 or 5 when Emily showed up. Then we went to a different bar and had a few more....whatev'.

Me in my thrift store skirt - I loved it! This pic is not the best but the only that shows my outfit. You girls whose husbands play your papparazzi every week ... how do you get them to take your picture- every time I had Ben the camera he rolls his eyes holds the camera up and snaps without hardly looking at me - he's just not having it.

Me and Emily trying not to freeze on the patio

 And closer

Sunday was as Sunday always is in the autumn. Wake up shake off the night before's wine and get ready for some football!

Bengals lost. It was sad but its early in the season - I still have faith!

Then it was blogging, cleaning, and grocering

Next weekend is Jen's bday in Rushville and then the following Thursday I'm headed to Louisiana for Rachel's wedding. I'm driving down and taking my mom as my date - should be VERY interesting.

Happy Monday all - have a good and quick week!!!

The ABCs of Me

I recently started following Megan @ Miss Madison's Charmed Life and while reading some of her older posts I stumbled across this fun little quiz so I thought I would use it on this lazy Sunday afternoon as a writing prompt.
Enjoy!

A- My AIR CONDITIONER is set on: Nothing right now! Lol its down right chilly outside now - I think fall has arrived!

B- My BEDROOM theme is: Powder blue walls with kind of a shabby chic decor. Our bedroom does not at all reflect us - when we were discussing paint when we first moved in we agreed we wanted something calming so we settled on light blue which is ridiculously difficult to decorate with - use white it looks like a nursery- use brown and its not me at all -I've been thinking about updating the paint to a Robins egg blue and decorating with lime green to make it look more fresh but when we move its going to be some bold jewel tone all the way!

C- The CAR in the driveway is:  I drive a Malibu and Ben drives a Dodge Caliber.

D- My DESK looks:  At home its in transition as we are re-doing our home office. At work its usually pretty neat and always has a jar of candy for my residents and co-workers to snack from - I'm a good hostess!

E- The EXACT time I wake up daily is: 6:50 or 7:00 - sometimes on Fridays I sleep until 7:30
F- The FIRST thing I wash in the shower is: My hair so it can 'soak' while I do the rest of me.
G- My GARAGE is filled with: Nothing...we dont have one

H- My HOUSE is: small and old. We don't own. I can't wait until the day we say goodbye to this place!

I- If you peeked INSIDE my bedroom you'd see: Our stripped bed - the linens are in the wash

J- My favorite JUICE is: apple but I don't drink it too much because I prefer not to drink my calories well unless its a Saturday night lol

K- The best part of my KITCHEN is: Nada. I hate my kitchen- so small!
-
L- The LAST person who visited my home was: Will for the Bengals game -he's still here playingg video games with my husband

M- The last piece of MAIL for me was:My Playboy renewal notice

N- My NEIGHBORS think I'm: Probably that I'm not very friendly. I'm not a schmooze with the neighbors kind of gal

O- If you OPENED my fridge you'd see: That our light mechanism is broken
P- My last house PARTY was: In Aug. for my bro-in-laws bday
Q- A QUICK meal I like to fix is: Chicken and broccoli stuffed baked potato - 1 baked potato, 1 wedge laughing cow cheese, small chicken breast, 1/2 cup broccoli and a sprinkle of ww cheese and done
R- My favorite ROOM of the house is: Quickly becoming the new office
S- The SHAMPOO brand I use is: Aveda shampure when I'm splurging and Loreal Ever Strong when I'm thrifty
T- My largest TELEVISION is: 32 inches - if Ben had his way we would have one big enough to take up a whole wall

U- UNDER my bed you will find: a three way mirror that I love but have no where to put

V- The last time I VACUUMED was: Yesterday - but I vacuum everyday
W- Looking out my WINDOW I see: Our backyard

X- I wish I had X-TRA: money. duh.  I have so many ideas of what I could do with it!
Y- My YARD is: under used
Z- ZZZZZZZ My bedtime is: 11 pm

Much Love Always!
