I'm Exhausted but TGIF Anyhow!

Last night was my BIG Halloween party at work. I crammed 100 + residents AND their families into our little community and watched madness ensue.

It was really a fun little shin dig but when I returned home at 9pm and sat down, I realized other than driving; that was the first time I really sat down all day! Did I mention I went in at 9?

Loooong, Exhausting day.

The good news? Now that its over there is one small work day standing between me and the greatness that is Halloween weekend! And today will definitely feel very small in comparison to yesterday. The biggest thing on my plate is cleaning my Activity room / office and then a scenic drive for my residents. Usually we drive downtown or somewhere out in the country. Today we are going to drive out to Spring Grove Cemetary for some Creepy Cruisin'!

I know what you're thinking- isn't it a little morbid to drive a group of senior citizens through a graveyard?!?!

Not at all! This cemetary is the second largest in the country- after Arlington and boasts a gorgeous arberatom (I know I didn't spell that right!) so it should provide just the right amount of scenery and morbidness for Halloween Eve! This works out as well because I read the history of the cemetary to the residents Tuesday night along with other "haunted" area attractions such as: Bobbie Mackies, 20th Century Theatre, and Big Bone Lick State Park.

Tomorrow I am supposed to go to my great uncle's visitation but after not having seen that part of my famile in many years- I'm thinkin I may take a pass.

And....

My Uncle Gene did in fact have a heartache earlier this week. He is awake now and off the respirator so things are looking up. We should know soon how serious it was and what kind of permanant damage he may have. He seems to be doing well though so Thank God for that!

I hope everyone has a great weekend and the best Halloween ever! Eat lots of candy, drink lots of spirits, and take lots of pictures!

Happy Halloween!

Miss Amber Lane

I like it that you take care of seniors, that is a beautiful thing, like adult child care I think of it.
